The Book. The Book!

I finished my novel yesterday. This is the main reason for the lack of updates to this blog, for which I apologize, but I really needed to take the time to sit down and do this.

Still not sending it to the agents, but that will come… soon.

For now just a short update on the technical specifications of Mind the Gap:

Chapters: 49 + Prologue

Total Word Count: 133694

We celebrated by ordering pizza with everything and I am still riding on a high of adrenaline and euphoria. I can not put into words how good it feels to be done with that part of the work. We both got a really good feeling about this book.

Anyway: I promise to keep you posted on the progress from now on. Expect to hear more soon.

Flickr!

I’ve finally found the time to update take care of my Flickr account, which was a wonderful Christmas gift from Jonas that I have neglected for far too long. Right now it’s mostly photos from Greece (but a lot of them), plus some Berlin, Frankfurt and Bernkastel-Kues, but I’ll upload more stuff from our honeymoon in the Dominican Republic soon.

Enjoy.

Proudly Presenting:

Commentarium.

(Applause)

Jonas and I have been talking about launching a movie and TV review everything site for ages now, and here it is. You want reviews? We got them. You want podcasts? We got will have them. You want guest blogs? Analysis? Lists? We got all of that. Or will have, in due time. Be patient, the site’s just launched. For now enjoy my article on Twilight: New Moon.

What?

No, sorry. We haven’t got gummibears. Maybe on the next site.

Sick Again

Acute hearing loss, at least that’s what all the online dictionaries spit out if I enter “Hörsturz“, not really sure if that’s even correct. Symptoms include a strange buzzing in my left ear, like listening to a very loud radio that hasn’t got proper reception, paired with all other sounds being dulled down, as if I’m hearing the world through a thick wad of cotton. Am getting injections to combat a possible infection and pills to lower my already low blood pressure even further.

But try as this new hurdle may: It may keep me from the cinema, but it won’t keep me from blogging.

I laugh at this puny sickness.

Ha ha ha.

(Sniff.)

Sick

In case any of you have been missing my frequent and unbearably witty updates and are wondering as to the reason of my sudden and shocking silence: I’m sick.

Sick. Miserable. Feverish. And to boot my cellphone seems to be suffering from SAD. (Yes, there might be other, more reasonable explanations for its weird behaviour, but where would be the fun in that?)

Regular updates shall resume as soon as I have conquered the evil flu.

Hola

So… we’re back from our honeymoon.

Got back home around two-thirty and since then I’ve been trying to do everything in my power to stay awake, reasoning that giving in to the sweet temptation of sleep will only lead to a major case of jetlag. The result is that it now is three in the morning and I’m still up, caught in a strange, feverish state between wide awake and undead, and I think I’ll wake up tomorrow somewhen in the late afternoon with one hell of a headache. I believe there’s a word for those symptoms. What’s-it-called-again? Ah… Jetlag.

Damn.

Anyway. I will write a nice long post-Dominican Republic post tomorrow as soon as I’ve regained consciousness. For now, have a picture of the happy couple on the beach.
